No. The Free plan is free forever and the sign-up path does not ask for a card. You only enter payment details if you choose to move to Flow or Horizon.
Free is governed by fair use rather than a published message count. If your usage runs past what the plan is shaped for, Drift tells you and keeps working at a reduced rate rather than cutting you off mid-conversation. Moving to Flow or Horizon raises the ceiling.
The largest and most capable models available at the time you ask, rather than the cheaper ones a free tier is economically obliged to use. Flow routes complex work to them; Horizon puts them behind every action, including the routine ones. Which specific models these are changes as new ones ship, which is the point of describing them by tier rather than by name.
Only the rate. Flow is $10/month billed monthly, or $8/month when billed yearly. Horizon is $100/month billed monthly, or $80/month billed yearly. The features are identical either way.
Cancel any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@usedrift.us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account reverts to Free rather than closing — your conversations, memories and connections stay where they are.
