Drift — Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about what Drift is, what it connects to, what it will and will not do without asking, what it costs, and how the data in your connected accounts is handled.

What is Drift?

Drift is a personal agent for your tasks, calendar, and email. Ask in plain words, and it gathers what it needs across Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Tasks, and Notion, does the work, and asks before anything reaches another person. It is a live product you can use today, not a preview.

Who is Drift designed for?

Drift is shaped for people who find traditional productivity systems noisy, demanding, or difficult to maintain. There is no board to set up and no backlog to groom — you ask for what you need and Drift goes and reads what it needs to answer.

What does Drift do on its own, and what needs my approval?

Drift stops and asks before anything reaches another person, and before it deletes something. Everything else — reading, and work inside your own account that you can undo — runs without interrupting you. Sending, replying to, or forwarding an email always shows a confirmation card first, and so does deleting an email or a task. Saving a draft, creating a task, and writing a Notion page do not. Calendar writes are the one exception to the delete rule: they run inline, including deletes.

Which accounts can Drift connect to?

Drift is built around Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Tasks, and Notion. It also connects to Slack, Asana, Todoist, Linear, GitHub, Jira, Figma, Canva, Spotify, and more, through its connections catalog. You choose what to connect, and you can disconnect anything at any time in Settings.

Does Drift work with a Google Workspace account?

Yes, provided your Workspace administrator allows the account to authorize third-party applications. Some organizations restrict that, in which case the connection will fail at Google rather than in Drift, and your administrator has to allow it before you can continue.

Can I use Drift on mobile?

Yes — Drift is an installable web app. Open usedrift.us on your phone and add it to your home screen for a full-screen app experience on iOS or Android.

What happens to the data in my connected accounts?

Connections are authorized through Composio using each service’s own permission flow, and your access tokens are held by Composio rather than stored in Drift’s database. Drift keeps connection identifiers, connection status, and limited cached projections needed to render your views and briefings. Complete email bodies and attachments are not retained unless you bring them into a conversation. Disconnect an account in Settings and its cached projections are deleted.

Do you train AI models on my email?

No. Drift does not use your content to train its own models, and does not permit model providers to train on content submitted through the Service where the provider offers that control. Your conversations and relevant connected data are sent to model providers only to generate the response you asked for.

Is there a free way to begin?

Yes. The Free plan is free forever and needs no credit card; fair-use limits apply. Flow adds frontier models and proactive daily briefings for $10/month, or $8/month billed yearly, and Horizon puts frontier intelligence behind every action for $100/month, or $80/month billed yearly.

How do I cancel?

Cancel any time from your account settings, or by emailing hello@usedrift.us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and your account then reverts to the Free plan rather than closing.

Where can I ask another question?

Email hello@usedrift.us and include the part of your planning routine you want to make calmer.
